El agua – derecho inalienable pero fuente agotable
El acceso equitativo del agua para todos constituye uno de los mayores desafíos para la humanidad en el siglo XXI. Cientos de millones de personas se encuentran marginadas del acceso al agua pero no por su escasez, sino por causa de pobreza, desigualdades y falta de voluntad política.
Consciente de la gravedad de esta situación, la COSUDE ha puesto en el centro de sus intervenciones el agua para el uso de los seres humanos y su seguridad alimentaria. En sus campos de acción se incluyen la protección de las fuentes de agua y sus ecosistemas según los principios del programa mundial de la Gestión Integrada de los Recursos Hídricos (GIRH).
