Viaje en común: Un viaje a través de 60 años de cooperación al desarrollo entre Suiza y Nepal El libro presenta la cosecha prolífica de la vida del autor Rolf Wilhelm, de 84 años, que trabajó en calidad de directivo para muchos proyectos de desarrollo de la COSUDE. En el ejemplo de Nepal, Wilhelm describe el desarrollo de la cooperación suiza al desarrollo desde diversos pequeños proyectos hacia un desarrollo integral en diferentes distritos de Nepal. Sus recuerdos de cariz personal se complementan con breves artículos de otros expertos de la cooperación con este país montañoso de Asia.

Switzerland – Madagascar: a Half-Century of Partnership Having lived in Madagascar for over 20 years, Swiss Ethnologist Gion Cabalzar has written a historical retrospective on the 50 years of cooperation between Switzerland and Madagascar. The author shows how Swiss development cooperation has evolved within the political and social context which has been prevailing since independence. He illustrates the path taken by Swiss cooperation by highlighting a series of model projects, while reviewing the achievements of a half-century of cooperation with the country. Gion Cabalzar’s work is the product of a vast bibliographic research project, along with discussions conducted with some twenty protagonists active in Swiss cooperation with Madagascar, be it in the field or at Headquarters.

Even the sky isn't crying any more Michel Juvet, a member of the Consultative Commission for International Cooperation and Development of the Confederation, has put together a photographic collection which pays homage to the courage of women victims of sexual violence in the Great Lakes region. He met these women the course of the programme of psycho-social support by the SDC. The aim of this programme is to help these women to recover and to lead normal lives again after the traumas that they have experienced.

Teaching Materials: Development Cooperation - Switzerland's Multifaceted Commitment The offering of teaching materials provided by the Foundation for Education and Development is meant to arouse the interest of pupils beginning with the secondary-school1st level for the core concerns of development cooperation. It shows them the wide-ranging forms, interests and actors associated with development cooperation, illustrating it all with examples of projects and accessory materials. This offering is made up of nine teaching modules and a DVD with seven films.

5 Year Ex-Post Impact Study Postcosecha Programme in Central America Between 1983 and 2003 SDC carried out a programme in Central America to assist farmers in reducing post harvest losses and increasing food security. By 2010 approximately 415000 farmer families had acquired a metal silo, allowing for decentralized safe storage of 380000 tons of staple food. This study presents the results of the benefits of the metal silos based on a field survey of 800 silo owner vs. 800 non silo users.

Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Concept The reconstruction and rehabilitation programmes of the Humanitarian Aid of the Swiss Confederation provide measures that, beyond easing suffering through emergency and disaster relief efforts, aim to restore or improve the living conditions of the affected communities and thus facilitate a swift return to normality. The present document sets out the approach and modes of operation that the Humanitarian Aid of the Swiss Confederation will seek to adopt in the area of reconstruction and rehabilitation. The concept is written primarily for use by SDC personnel, but may also serve as a source of information for a wider public.

Annual Report 2010 on Switzerland's contribution to EU enlargement The Swiss enlargement contribution for the benefit of the twelve new EU member states is bearing fruit. The first projects have been concluded and numerous project proposals approved. Switzerland has also signed bilateral-cooperation programme agreements with Romania and Bulgaria. The Annual Report 2010 represents an interim review of activities and results.

Wer langsam geht, kommt weit - Ein halbes Jahrhundert Schweizer Entwicklungshilfe Historian René Holenstein, who also works for the SDC, has studied the Agency’s half-century record as a provider of development assistance. His book outlines the SDC’s underlying principles and objectives, its approach to development cooperation, and considers the actors. In addition, reports on the experience of fifteen people who have been involved in Swiss development cooperation give an insight into their personal motivation and, in many different ways, their commitment in various areas of deployment. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) - Interim Report of Switzerland 2010 At the Millennium Summit scheduled to be held in September 2010, the UN General Assembly will draw up its second interim balance sheet, as it did for the first time in 2005, on the implementation status of the 8 Millennium Development Goals that are to be reached by the year 2015. In its report, the Federal Council illustrates the way in which Switzerland, working in cooperation with national and international partners, is making an effective contribution to the attainment of the MDGs.

Les interactions de la Suisse avec le monde La brochure Les interactions de la Suisse avec le monde traite des interactions complexes qui, dans le contexte de la mondialisation, existent entre la Suisse et le monde dans les domaines de la politique, de l'économie, de la société et de la coopération internationale. L'interdépendance est en effet une caractéristique de notre époque. Avec la mondialisation, il n'y a pratiquement plus de problème qui n'ait pas une portée mondiale. Et la politique de développement, elle aussi, doit trouver des réponses aux défis qui se posent à la Suisse.
