United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Report on the State of World Population 2011 In October 2011, the number of human beings on our planet passed the 7 billion mark. In the meantime, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) published its Annual Report on the State of World Population. Above and beyond the global demographic tendencies, this report takes a contrasting look at the progress made and the challenges faced by a rising global population. It was made public in Geneva in the presence of Safiye Çağar, UNFPA Director of Information and External Relations, and Martin Dahinden, Director-General of the SDC. |
