Ayuda Humanitaria: ayuda a la supervivencia y reconstrucción

La Ayuda Humanitaria de la Confederación es un instrumento de la política exterior suiza que se presta rápidamente en el mundo entero. Esta ayuda es la expresión concreta del sentimiento de solidaridad suizo con el resto del mundo. En caso de catástrofes, de crisis y de conflictos en el extranjero, la ayuda humanitaria apoya por una parte proyectos de otras organizaciones humanitarias en favor de las personas necesitadas y, por otra parte, ejecuta sus propios programas.

 «El Cuerno de África debe seguir siendo el foco de la ayuda suiza»
En el Cuerno de África, las condiciones de vida de miles de personas siguen siendo precarias: viviendas destartaladas, carencia de agua potable y falta de acceso a la educación. En enero de 2012, Manuel Bessler, delegado de la Confederación para la ayuda humanitaria, viajó a Somalia y a Kenia a fin de constatarla situación sobre el terreno.

Philippines
Swiss experts improve the water supply
 Six experts from the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit who flew to the disaster area in the Philippines just before Christmas returned to Switzerland. Their task was to support local authorities in re-establishing water supplies in the South Philippine town of Cagayan de Oro and in several evacuation centres in the region.

31st International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent
President of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey, President of the ICRC Jakob Kellenberger and President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Tadateru Konoé opened the 31st International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva on 28 November. The aim of the conference was to strengthen international humanitarian law and humanitarian action.

A homecomer working for humanitarian Switzerland
After 20 years working in the humanitarian field abroad, Manuel Bessler has returned to Switzerland to make his experience and knowledge available in Switzerland.He took up his post as the delegate of the Federal Council for Humanitarian Aid and as head of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit on 1 October 2011.

Once equipos de salvamento llegados de diez países se son vistos confrontados con esta situación: En la región de Basilea se ha registrado un terremoto de gran amplitud. Este ejercicio de simulacro, el primero de este género en Suiza, ha sido puesto en marcha por la COSUDE en colaboración con el Departamento Federal de Defensa. El objetivo consistía en aplicar las líneas directrices del Grupo Internacional Asesor de Búsqueda y Rescate (INSARAG).

Replenishment
Framework Credit for Humanitarian Aid
The Federal Council approved the 6 June 2011 the replenishment of the ordinary framework credit of 13 June 2000 by 112 million CHF. This replenishment ensures that the Confederation's humanitarian aid can be continued until the new ordinary framework credit for the entire SDC starts to run from 2013 onwards.
