CULTURESCAPES Balkan
Cultural festival

This year the Culturescapes festival focuses on the Balkans. Artists from all spheres - film, art, literature, music, new media, dance and the theatre - from Albania, Bosnia-Herzogovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, can be seen in exhibitions, films, theatre and dance productions, and much more.

The eight-week long festival provides an insight into the current cultural landscape of the region and will take place mainly in Basel but also in Aarau, Bellinzona, Bern, Biel, Boswil, Chur, Geneva, Lörrach, Lucerne, Moutier, Scuol, Thun, Uster, Winterthur and Zurich.

The SDC is financially supporting Culturescapes in its promotion of cultural creativity from the Balkans. Swiss support for artists from the Balkans already has a long history. Between 1999 and 2013, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia carried out a broad cultural programme in the region on the SDC's behalf.

The "Art of Change" forum will take place on Friday 6 December 2013 (9 - 5pm, Kornhausforum Bern) on the occasion of the conclusion of the Swiss cultural programme in the Balkans . The forum is being organised by the office for cultural cooperation "artlink" together with Culturescapes.
