With whom does the SDC cooperate?
Since joining the UN in 2002 and the Bretton Woods Institutions (the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund) in 1992, Switzerland has become a member of all important multilateral development institutions and thus collaborates with UN organizations, international financial institutions and multilateral networks.
Widespread membership as well as strong potential in capital and knowledge make multilateral organizations key players in development cooperation. The following organizations are especially significant for Switzerland’s work:

Not limited to merely being a financial supporter of the above UN organizations, international financial institutions and several additional organizations, Switzerland also actively influences their policy orientation and maintains contact with them as a daily matter of course. Often, Switzerland is represented in the executive committees of such multilateral institutions, enabling it to influence all aspects of the institution, and making it possible to enter into discussions on important multilateral cooperation themes.
