Forms of cooperation - mutual and effective
At the forefront of SDC cooperation with domestic and foreign partners are confidence, transparency and dealings with power and differences in power:
- The SDC strengthens the autonomy of partner countries and organizations. The main criterion in the choice and orientation of cooperation is subsidiarity. The SDC promotes the ability of partner
countries and organizations to act independently.
Help for self-help - Cooperation depends on a comprehensive and systematic approach with various partners.
- Forms of cooperation follow five focal points ,crisis prevention and management, good governance, income generation and employment and sustainable use of natural resources
- Policy and operational activities are systematically linked. In certain subject areas developments take place exclusively on the policy level.
- Training and the institutional development of partner organizations are the keys to creating a stronger partner.
- Support for networks encourages the exchange of know-how and technology.
- Partner organizations are supported financially and with know-how as well as by an appropriate combination of instruments.
- Medium- and longer-term planning in cooperation with the partners is determined in the respective country or regional program.
